Your Daily Dracula – Ha Luo Jiangshi (Hello Dracula 2 Son of the Vampire) (1987)
A direct sequel to You huan dao shi/Jiang Shi Xiao Zi (Hello Dracula) (1985) and pretty much the same again, but with more from the underage blue-skinned moppet vampire (including a full-frontal nude scene) and an increase of pee-drinking and falling-over-into-yuck gags. The fat, inept police chief (Pang San) of the first film got killed and is now a ghost-corpse, but his twin brother (Pan Sen) keeps communing with him in the hope that the spook will give him winning lottery numbers. The vampire kid gets an origin story, involving an accident in the woods – his dad is crushed by a falling tree and becomes the main vampire menace and the child presumably dies of exposure only to return and have more fun in the afterlife as a mischevous vampire. All the other characters are back and do the same schtick – though the sort-of Japanese baddie of Hello Dracula is replaced by a trio of Americans – a presbyterian minister and a nun researching vampires (the nun gets a psychic link to the dead police chief for a weird and not-sexy bathing scene) and a bloke with a big moustache who seems to want to put Chinese hopping dead folks into a circus show. It has one or two weird, effective images (an EC Comics-style baseball game played with human body parts – including a red skull for a ball) but is more hectic than funny or exciting.
